Bed
bugs are harmful pests that cause severe skin diseases in humans. They
can deteriorate the life of a person to such an extent, that he may feel
depressed. These pests reside not only on beds but an entire home. They
are also known as blood suckers who feed on humans, when they are
either sleeping or resting. Though their bites aren't allergic to all,
some individuals may develop excessive rashes and other problems.
Few false facts about bed bugs are:
1. They are visible to naked eye
This
fact isn't true at all. All bed bugs are not visible, until you have
the vision of a fighter pilot. Though adult species can be searched
easily, smaller ones are too tiny to be noticed. Adult pests range from
the size of a flax seed to a rice grain whereas larval staged are tiny
wisps that are invisible.
2. Their enemy is vacuum
This
fact is partially true. If you are using vacuum cleaner properly,
results will be effective. One should carefully inspect the brush,
tubing, attachments, and filters after vacuuming bed bugs. Since they
easily crawl on carpets, reduce their chances of invasion by emptying
the vacuum bag away from home interiors.
3. Diatomite is the answer
It
works, but only in few cases. Diatomaceous earth or diatomite is a rock
powder made of fine fossil remains of algae. This powder is an
effective solution that can deter away the crawling pests. Since many
crawlers breathe through tiny tubules present on their legs, diatomite
clog these tubules leading to a terrible death that doesn't occur to all
 species.
4. Bed bugs can jump
A
horrible lie. Bed bugs can only crawl to places from where they can
drop on you. Their tiny legs doesn't allow them to take jumps. If they
are on your bed, they have dropped there by crawling a long way.
5. It's easy to beat bed bugs
Bugs
are powerful creatures that have evolved themselves to become immune to
major pesticides, including DDT. They carry dozens of human pathogens
that can cause severe diseases, if transmitted. Beating these harmful
pests isn't an easy task.
6. You don't need a professional
Some
miser people think they can effectively get rid of these pets on their
own, which isn't possible. In case you are able to deter them away,
chances are that they can come back soon. There is no other way to
defeat them, other than calling a professional for bed bug extermination services.
7. Only dirty people get bed bugs
A
false fact that is believed by majority of people. These pests feed on
blood rather than dirt. Therefore, its not appropriate to say that dirty
people get bed bug infestation. Bugs doesn't care about the lifestyle
of a person. Taste of blood is same for both tidy and messy people.
These
are some of the bed bug facts that are not true at all. Only those who
have suffered from bug bites can tell relate their experience with these
 blood suckers.
